DESCRIPTION

A small motte, 16 metres in diameter, 12 feet in height with a flat top 12 feet across, is present in the garden of Twyn-y-Corras. The area has been disturbed by gardening and a wartime homeguard dug-out. One or two baileys have been suggested as adjoining the motte.

SO 418249. A mound in the garden of Twyn-y-Corras rises steeply to a height of c 12ft and has a flat top mesuring some 12ft across. The area has been disturbed by gardening and a wartime homeguard dug-out. Two large trees stand on the summit. The feature is probably a motte. There is no evidence of a bailey, but the site is in a good defensive position. (Nothing visible on available APs (RAF 1946)). (1)
