TAYNTON CASTLE

The earthwork remains of Taynton Castle are partially visible on aerial photographs. The castle is a ring-motte of 11th to 12th century date. An earthern bank encloses a roughly circular area with a diameter that measures circa 25m. The bank is 1.7m high and measures 8m wide. Scheduled.
