A considerable mound of earth, thought to be the site of a siege castle of King Stephen. Removed before 1852.

"A considerable mound of earth, most probably the siteof the fort erected by King Stephen on the London Road" (SO 860541) at the top of Green Hill (Name SO 853541), opposite Fort Royal (SO 85 SE 8), when he besieged Worcester Castle, was removed before 1852. "It may, however, have been much more ancient". (1)

Two siege castles were set up at Worcester by King Stephen in 1151, but they were captured as soon as they were built. (2)
