Medieval moated site in Falstoff's Wood, Kimberley Park. The house was demolished in 1400 but the moat survives as an earthwork. The remains of an associated enclosure and fishpond survive nearby.

TG 08480380 Hall (NR) (site of) Moat (NR) (1,2)

Seat of the Falstolff family until its demolition in 1400. Moat
remains. (3)

The first seat here (Kimberley) belonged to the Falstolff family and
stood on the west (should read east) side of the village until Sir
John Wodehouse demolished it and erected Kimberly Hall (TG 00 SE 1). (4)

A strongly defended homestead moat (supposed manorial), now
tree-covered. There are no surface indications of a former building
at the published site.

Re-surveyed at 1:2500. (5)

TG 08470379. Medieval moated site, surviving as an earthwork. The moat surrounds a rectangular raised platform, measuring roughly 40 metres by 25 metres. The north western, south western and south eastern arms of the moat are open and range in width from 10 to 12 metres. The north eastern arm is narrower, at about 8 metres wide. The south western arm is bordered by an external bank which runs around the southern and western corners. The existing causeway, which crosses the north western moat arm, may not be original. A low bank, which extends north westwards from the north western side of the moat, may represent part of an associated enclosure. About 12 metres south east of this feature is a depression measuring roughly 15 metres by 8 metres, which is believed to be the remains of a fishpond. Scheduled. (6)
