Site of the deserted medieval settlement of West Harle. A pele tower at West Harle was recorded in a survey of 1415, but no trace of such a structure survives. The tower was incorporated into a farmhouse in 1629, which was altered in the 18th century. In 1722 the tower at Wset Harle was described as a `stone vaulted room used as a kitchen', that is completely enveloped by the later farmhouse.
