GREAT CHALFIELD MANOR

Moated manor house constructed circa 1480, on the site of a fortified manor house. Altered circa 1550 and again in 1840 when it was converted into a farmhouse. Restoration work was carried out between 1905-12. There are two water filled moats present to the north and south of the manor, with no indication that these were ever joined.
