SK 63295335 Tumulus (NR). (1)

A conical hill, the top of which appears to be a large tumulus. (2)

The south western spur of Loath Hill is crowned by two large mounds, both under grass, the northerly with trees also. Both are well in excess of 60.0m in diameter and over 8.0m high. One is that noted above and the other, named Robin Hood Hill, is 140.0m to the NE at SK 63355349. The latter is also called a tumulus on Sanderson's 2 1/2" map of 1835. Neither betrays traces of a
surrounding ditch nor artificial scarping, and are almost
certainly natural geological features.

The hedgerow that traversed the SW mound from E-W has been grubbed out leaving an excavation-like trench across it. (3)
