A Bronze Age ring cairn situated below Belstone Tor within the valley of the East Okement River. The cairn survives as a 0.5 metre high bank surrounding a 4.1 metre diameter internal area. The bank around the southern and eastern side of the cairn is faced on both sides with edge set stones. A large flat stone lying on the south western part of the ring bank may represent a displaced cist coverstone. The overall dimensions of the cairn are 9.5 metres east to west by 8.5 metres north to south. Scheduled.

(SX 60789195) Cairn circle (NR) (1)

About 300 yards south east of the confluence of the East Ockment
and the Blackaven Brook, and about 90 yards east by south of a
small modern bridge is a circle 5 yards in diameter. "A few small
stones are still erect but most are much larger than is usual
in hut circles and these are all fallen". Prowse considers that
it is possibly a tumulus-ring like the "Nine Maidens" (SX 69
SW 12); it is however small in diameter compared with other tumuli
on Dartmoor, and it stands on relatively low ground. (2)

The remains of this partially excavated cairn comprises a half-circleof a boulder/slab faced bank 0.5m high with an extensive spread of spoil on the outside. A large central hollow, 0.5m deep has exposed some boulders. The large slab may, as suggested, have been a coverstone. (5)
