ARKLEBY HALL

Farmhouse built circa 1740 incorporating an earlier house of 1725. It is two storeyed and rendered with a slate roof. Short flanking walls extend on either side of the house, that to the left surmounted by a griffin holding a coat of arms in its claws. The house was extended in the 20th century. Possibly the site of an medieval fortified manor house.
