A sub circular enclosure circa 70 to 80 metres in diameter was recorded as a slight earthwork on air photographs taken in 1976. Sinuous linear features adjacent to the north side may be hollow ways. The enclosure was recorded in 1929 by the Ordnance Survey as an earthwork with a bank circa 2 feet high and 4 feet wide and a ditch about 1.5 feet deep. No entrance was apparent. The site was ploughed and/or levelled in 1962/3, and fieldwalking at the time produced no finds. Its date is therefore uncertain.

[TA 0198 0763] Small circular earthwork with bank about 2 ft high and 4 ft wide, and ditch about 1 ft 6 in deep, at Bigby. The position has no defensive value as it is near the bottom of a slope. There is no apparent entrance. (1)

The feature has been ploughed out. (2)

Fieldwalking at the time of levelling in 1962-3 produced no finds. Field names - Crow Wood, Thorn Wood, Great and Little Park Wood - suggest that it formerly lay in woodland: it may have been a pre-Medieval monument. (3)

The sub-circular enclosure recorded by Authorities 1-3, which may be
of Prehistoric date, was seen as a very slight earthwork
approximately 70m-80m in diameter, on 1976 photography centred at
TA 0198 0763. Sinuous linear features adjacent to the N side may be
hollow ways, similar to those recorded 150m further east (see
TA 00 NW 40). (Morph No. LI.489.13.1-2)

A continuation of the sinuous linear features mentioned above are visible as ditch cropmarks on 2006 aerial photographs centred at TA 0195 0773 and 0191 0767. The linear features (approximately 35m in length) cut across one another creating cross like formations on the north and north west of the main circular enclosure. (5)
