The remains of a post-Dissolution garden and parkland lies to the west and south of Buildwas Abbey.

A small park, apparently of 19th century creation, lies to the west and south of Buildwas Abbey.

In a field to the west of the abbey are the earthwork remains of a post-Dissolution garden. The earthworks include an L-shaped depression measuring 38m along the west side and 28m along the north with a steep curving scarp defining the other sides. This is probably a compartmentalised sunken garden. To the west is a platform which mirrors precisely the west side of the depression and the pond to the west. Beyond the pond is an embanked sub-rectangular platform, it measures 60m x 10m and stands c2m high.

To the north of these earthworks are the remains of two abraded water channels and another pond. This area is particularly susceptible to seasonal flooding, and therefore unlikely to have been used as fish ponds.

To the south of the railway line are the remains of a perimeter wall, possibly the wall dividing the monastic Inner and Outer Court. Beyond the wall are two ponds. The northern pond is much more substantial than the other and was probably a 'reservoir' for the post-Dissolution garden to the south. These two ponds were also probably former monastic fishponds and were fed from a leat at the base of the escarpment.

Further south are three circular enclosures measuring c10m diameter and c0.2m deep. These enclosures are the remains of a Second World War searchlight position with the command post contained within another detached circular enclosure further south.
