DESCRIPTION + /

1790 wreck of English brig which stranded at Bude, outward-bound from Bristol for Africa with a general cargo, including iron. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel. She was in use as a slave ship at the time of loss, and may have been constructed as one, since she was built in 1783 in the port of Nantes, one of the French 'ports négriers' or slave-trading ports.
